Men are prone to make jokes about women drivers. I read this one recently. “My wife had a nasty accident with the car this morning. She backed it out of the garage, completely forgetting that the night before, she had backed it in.”
I do think that many of the lady drivers have the last laugh. Insurance companies see them as a lesser risk than their male counterparts. I am sure you know of some drivers and you are not very keen to be a passenger when they are driving.
Recently there was a man driving a car and I am sure none of us would want to be a passenger with him. Omed Aziz was driving a car in Oldbury West Midlands. Police noticed that the vehicle being driven by him had crossed a white hazard line on to the wrong side of the road.
The police officer who stopped the vehicle told the court, “I attempted to speak to the driver, who appeared to be fumbling around with the controls. At that point the policeman continued, the passenger leaned across and stated: 'He's blind'".
Omed Aziz originally from Iraq was blinded following a bomb blast in his homeland. Another policeman at the scene told the court, "I asked him if he could see me. He removed the dark-coloured sunglasses he was wearing and I could clearly see he was blind as he had no eyes".
I don’t think there would be too many queuing up for a lift with a man who had no eyes! The Lord Jesus was speaking on one occasion about a religious sect called the Pharisees. The Pharisees promoted ceremonial washings and religious observances as the way to please God. To the Pharisees man’s way to haven was through outward observance of rules and regulations most of which were only man made traditions.
The Lord told them the problem was on the inside.
Matthew 15:11 "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man"
The Pharisees were offended by Christ’s teaching but the Lord hadn’t finished yet, he went on to say:
Matthew 15:14 "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch"
None of us would want a lift with a blind driver and I trust none of us are being misled by blind preachers.
Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost"
